Water and Sanitation

Water and Sanitation is a major problem in rural Afghan Communities.

"Water supply services in Afghanistan are limited, and access to improved water infrastructure is among the lowest in the world. Across rural Afghanistan, 89% of people defecate in the open, 75% drink contaminated water, and 10 out of 100 children die from preventable waterborne diseases before reaching their fifth birthday."

I have been looking at how I could provide water and sanitation within my school unit.

I came across 'LifeStaw'

This allows people to drink water which would have been dangerous before and the straw purifies it.
One of these devices costs just £2.50 and will last an adult 1 year and a child 2 years.
